Two classes at Creativ Festival!

I am really looking forward to vending and teaching at The Creativ Festival in Toronto, October 24-26! (My first class is actually even before the show opens on Thursday evening, October 23). I will be demonstrating stained glass quilting techniques at the show but my two classes are actually both handwork!

I get to go back to my beginnings with fabric and beads and do some fun, creative embroidery type stuff.

I have adapted some of the Fabulous Flower designs for hand work so we’ll get to make some 3D small flowers embellished with beads and yarns. So far I have been reworking poppies and sunflowers. The pictures aren’t quite ready but I will post them as soon as they are! Class reference: 412c3 at 5pm, Thursday October 23.

I am also teaching my “Crazy Memories” class where scrap-booking meets crazy quilting to make small keepsake quilts suitable for framing. We start with a picture (printed on fabric or a real photo that’s framed with a fabric pocket), collect embellishments that say something about the subject and incorporate them all with embroidery and fabric. I love to collect interesting fabrics and embellishments and these quilts give me a great way to use them. Plus, you end up with a beautiful piece that can be framed and proudly displayed. Class Reference:413c3 at 1pm, Sunday October 26.

Here are some projects:

In the coming weeks I will be posting more information and class details. Maybe I will see you at the festival? I’m at booth 607.
